BELLE ANDREWS

BELLE ANDREWS

My practice centers around building up and scraping back multiple layers of paint to explore the interplay of colour and texture.  Through this process, images, shapes, and forms emerge and dissolve as each layer evolves.  I primarily work in acrylics, incorporating pops of colour in oil pastels and. more recently, experimenting with metallic paints

While I aim to use a constantly changing contemporary palette, I am often drawn to the natural hues found in hills and landscapes of Shropshire or along our beautiful British coastline.

My goal is to draw the viewer in - to invite them into a world where no two people see the same thing.

The greatest challenge of the whole process is to know when to STOP.
